Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Overview
This role is ideal for procurement professionals with a strong technical foundation. You will help build sourcing processes from the ground up, manage key supplier relationships, and support a high‑visibility purchasing function within a growing manufacturing environment. The role combines engineering-minded problem solving with hands-on buying, negotiation, and supplier development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop category strategies through data analysis and cost breakdowns.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, manufacturing processes, and cost drivers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with domestic and international suppliers.
- Support sourcing activities for both direct and indirect categories.
- Identify new suppliers, including localization opportunities.
- Partner cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and production teams.
- Track budgets, support cost‑reduction initiatives, and analyze market trends.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the sourcing function.
- Occasional domestic/international travel as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
- ~3 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or manufacturing experience.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret cost models.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to negotiate effectively and build strong supplier relationships.
- Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, culture‑driven environment.
