Supplier Quality Manager - Metals (m/f/d)
DSJ Global are seeking an experienced and strategic Supplier Quality Manager (m/f/d) on a permanent basis for a leading global manufacturing group. This position will sit within their purchasing function, playing a key role in managing supplier relationships and ensuring the highest standards of quality, cost, and delivery across the metals division.
This group is a €Bn leader in the industry, known for its innovation and excellence in the manufacturing sector, serving global clients across aerospace, automotive, and industrial sectors.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing or engineering, with specific experience in the metal commodity. A C1+ level proficiency in German is a non-negotiable requirement for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, ensuring optimal performance in quality, cost, and delivery.
- Lead supplier development initiatives to drive continuous improvement and enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, such as engineering and quality, to ensure suppliers meet technical and quality standards.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, implementing corrective actions when necessary to ensure compliance with business goals.
- Support the procurement team in sourcing activities and risk management strategies.
- Ensure suppliers comply with industry regulations and quality standards, particularly in automotive.
Qualifications:
- Fluent in German (C1+ level) - written and spoken.
- Background in manufacturing/engineering, ideally within the aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors.
- Experience in the metal commodity (e.g., metals, alloys, machining processes).
- Strong experience in supplier development, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while driving supplier performance and quality.
Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of ISO standards and other quality certifications relevant to the automotive industry.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and supplier management tools.
