Supply Chain Project Manager
***This role can be remote but candidates must be flexible and open to travel, including occasional short-notice travel to customer sites. Candidates based in South Carolina or the Southeast region are strongly preferred.***
POSITION SUMMARY
This role leads end to end supply chain execution for large, complex capital construction projects, owning sourcing, manufacturing coordination, site delivery, and equipment installation activities. The role partners closely with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and suppliers to ensure cost, schedule, quality, budget control, and delivery commitments are achieved across the full project lifecycle.
You will manage multiple customer construction projects, acting as the primary interface between the customer, internal engineering and operations teams, and external suppliers. This role is responsible for translating customer requirements into sourcing and delivery plans, coordinating schedules across manufacturing, logistics, and site installation, and ensuring all equipment, materials, and services are delivered and installed on schedule to meet project milestones and customer readiness expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead end to end supply chain execution for complex, capital construction projects, including procurement, manufacturing coordination, logistics, supplier performance, and site delivery of custom engineered power and cooling systems.
- Define and execute sourcing, manufacturing, and logistics strategies in partnership with project leadership, including make versus buy decisions, internal factory alignment, contract manufacturing selection, and capacity planning.
- Own project level procurement planning and execution against customer schedules and budgets, ensuring direct materials, equipment, and services are sourced, manufactured, and delivered in line with project milestones.
- Act as the primary supply chain interface across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, operations, logistics, site teams, and external suppliers to coordinate schedules, resolve issues, and drive execution accountability.
- Coordinate manufacturing execution across internal facilities and third party manufacturers, ensuring production schedules, quality requirements, and delivery commitments align with customer construction and installation timelines.
- Lead supplier selection, commercial negotiations, contracting, and ongoing supplier performance management in collaboration with commodity management and project purchasing teams.
- Oversee logistics planning and site delivery execution, ensuring large equipment and systems are sequenced appropriately for installation readiness and construction site constraints.
- Track purchase orders, manufacturing progress, logistics milestones, and site deliveries, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation actions to protect cost, schedule, and customer commitments.
- Support project cost estimating and budgeting activities by translating engineering bills of material into supply chain cost inputs for project approvals and financial tracking.
- Engage and manage external suppliers, contract manufacturers, and service providers to ensure quality, compliance, safety, and on time delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support customer facing project meetings in coordination with program leadership, representing supply chain execution status, risk mitigation, and delivery readiness.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all project supply chain activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree w/ 7+ years of progressive experience in business, construction, project management, or related
- 5+ years of management experience supporting project based manufacturing, engineered to order products, or capital equipment.
- Strong background in project procurement, supplier management, and manufacturing coordination.
- Proven ability to manage end to end complex construction projects across multiple functions and external partners
- Experience working with engineering teams, BOM driven sourcing, and cost estimation.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
