Job Title: Import, Export, and Global Trade Compliance Specialist
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a skilled professional to provide guidance on import, export, and global trade compliance matters. The successful candidate will work closely with the VP to ensure the expeditious flow of goods across country borders, supporting supply chain requirements. This role demands a strong operational background with a focus on maintaining a compliant organization within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Service Provider Management: Assist with managing a global network of service providers for customs clearance and third-party importer/exporter services, ensuring they meet requisite expertise and performance expectations.
- Compliance Strategy Development: Develop and maintain a compliance strategy for import, export, and trade activities across assigned regions.
- Carrier Network Management: Oversee the regional carrier network to ensure timely clearance and payment of duties and taxes.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the client-facing point of contact for the Trade Compliance program, working directly with clients to identify emerging needs, address concerns, and improve operational areas.
- Programmatic Concerns: Address and remediate issues related to partner performance as identified by Trade Compliance Operations.
- Regulatory Advice: Advise internal clients and the executive team on regulatory changes, compliance requirements, and their impact on the client base.
- Research and Compliance: Conduct research on import/export regulations and product conformity requirements in response to partner network concerns.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments to address trade compliance gaps.
Experience/Education:
- Degree: BS/BA degree or equivalent required.
- Experience: 6-8+ years of import/export compliance experience with international responsibilities.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Product compliance experience or exposure to type approval concepts.
- Broker license.
- Experience managing diverse teams and collaborating with international departments.
- Skills:
- Effective communication across global teams.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
