Vice President of Manufacturing - Aerospace
Location: United States (Onsite or Hybrid, based on business needs)
Salary Range: $200,000 - $220,000 base salary + executive incentive compensation
Position Overview
The Vice President of Manufacturing will provide strategic and operational leadership across aerospace manufacturing operations in the United States. This role is responsible for driving world‑class performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity while supporting long‑term business growth and customer commitments in a highly regulated aerospace environment.
The VP of Manufacturing will lead manufacturing strategy, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across sites, partnering closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, EH&S, and Finance. This executive will build high‑performing teams, standardize best practices, and ensure compliance with all regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with business, operational, and growth objectives within the aerospace sector.
- Provide executive leadership for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity (SQDCP) across all manufacturing sites.
- Ensure full compliance with AS9100, EH&S regulations, customer requirements, and internal policies.
- Champion a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement toward a zero‑incident manufacturing environment.
- Lead operational excellence initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and best‑in‑class production systems.
- Establish, monitor, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs); hold teams accountable for corrective actions and sustained results.
- Drive capital investment planning, technology adoption, and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and competitiveness.
- Partner with Supply Chain to improve material flow, production planning, delivery performance, and working capital management.
- Own manufacturing financial performance, delivering operating plans, productivity targets, cost reduction initiatives, and budget commitments.
- Lead root cause and corrective action processes for critical operational, quality, and customer issues.
- Develop, mentor, and retain top leadership talent; build a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, customers, and regulatory bodies as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related technical discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- 15+ years of manufacturing and operations leadership experience, with significant experience in aerospace or defense environments.
- Prior executive or senior director‑level leadership experience overseeing complex manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, FAA, DoD, or other aerospace regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated success driving sustained improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
- Experience leading Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement transformations.
- Proven ability to lead large, cross‑functional organizations and influence at the executive level.
- U.S. Citizenship or eligibility to work in the United States; ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances if applicable.
