Overview
A rapidly expanding logistics and distribution organization is looking for a hands‑on Warehouse & Inventory Manager to take ownership of its warehouse and transportation operations. This role is well suited for an operational leader who enjoys building structure, introducing scalable systems, and driving continuous improvement. The focus is on strengthening accuracy, accountability, and efficiency while creating a dependable, well‑run operation from inbound receiving through final delivery.
What You'll Do
- Direct day‑to‑day warehouse operations, ensuring a safe, accurate, and efficient flow of goods.
- Align warehouse staffing and driver coverage with shifting workload demands.
- Champion inventory accuracy through effective controls, cycle counting, and system reconciliation.
- Oversee transportation activity, including route planning, coordination with third‑party carriers, and freight cost oversight.
- Define and manage clear KPIs that track productivity, accuracy, service levels, and cost performance.
- Build and maintain reporting tools that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop, document, and refine standard operating procedures across all warehouse functions-from receiving and storage to picking, packing, shipping, and dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑focused work environment.
- Manage labor, equipment, and transportation budgets with a focus on responsible resource utilization.
- Analyze cost drivers to uncover opportunities to reduce freight spend, improve labor efficiency, and minimize waste.
- Plan space utilization, equipment deployment, and staffing levels to support smooth, scalable operations.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of leadership experience in warehouse and transportation operations (distribution, logistics, or military background a plus).
- A confident, practical leader with the ability to set expectations and drive accountability in a respectful, effective manner.
- Strong experience using ERP or WMS platforms to improve operational visibility and accuracy.
- Thrives in environments that require structure‑building, problem solving, and operational modernization.
- Willing to be visible on the floor and lead by example while holding high professional standards.
- Able to assess operations end‑to‑end and optimize workflows holistically.
