A Global leader in the Paper & Forestry manufacturing is currently seeking an experienced and driven Production Department Superintendent to join their team in their state of the art facility in the Houston, TX Area. The Production Department Superintendent will have the following skillset:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in engineering or operations management.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience leading teams within the Manufacturing sector.
- Paper, Pulp, Tissue, Forestry or similar product manufacturing experience
- Proven track record implementing LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies resulting in measurable results .
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively at all levels throughout organization.
- LEAN/Six Sigma Certifications preferred
- Functional knowledge of 5s, TPM and similar LEAN principles
- Experience with preventative/predictive maintenance programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical systems (up to 480 volts), pneumatics/hydraulics equipment repair and troubleshooting
The Production Department Superintedent will have the following responsibilities:
- Oversee production activities while ensuring adherence to safety standards
- Develop and implement strategies that improve productivity without compromising quality
- Manage scheduling of personnel assignments based on workload demands
- Lead 30+ direct reports
- Troubleshoot equiptment, systems, and machinery as necessary
- Develop, implement and uphold operational KPIs
- Monitor activities on the floor and foster a preventative/predictive maintenance culture
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments such as production, engineering, safety and quality
- Utilize LEAN principles to drive improvements in the facility
