Sr. Broker Analyst
Our client is hiring for a Senior Broker Analyst to its logistics team. This is a new role with no existing process to inherit. You'll build visibility into U.S. inbound customs from scratch. Today there's no reporting on where in-bond shipments and consumption entries sit in clearance. You'll change that, help keep freight out of General Order, and make sure the materials that drive production get through the border on time.
What You'll Do
- Build reporting that shows clearance status across air, ocean, and parcel shipments
- Manage in-bond and consumption entries, including CBP 7512s and Immediate Exports, across a network of southern-border cross-dock locations
- Watch dwell times and act before freight goes to General Order, including rerouting shipments when needed
- Manage customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers on U.S./Mexico cross-border moves
- Review entries for HTS classification, country of origin, valuation, and documentation accuracy
- Support USMCA compliance, IMMEX considerations, and supplier certification validation
- Find duty savings and recovery opportunities through USMCA claims, post-entry corrections, drawback, and broker audits
- Build KPIs on broker performance, entry accuracy, transit times, and duty spend
- Present findings to procurement, logistics, finance, and compliance stakeholders in a way that leads to decisions
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or cross-border logistics
- Hands-on experience with bonded freight, including in-bond movements and bonded warehouses
- Working knowledge of USMCA rules of origin, HTS classification, duties, and tariff rates
- Familiarity with Mexican customs processes, including IMMEX
- Advanced Excel. SQL, Power BI, or Tableau preferred.
- Strong communication skills and comfort building processes from scratch
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, international business, or a related field
- Preferred: Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), bilingual English/Spanish, experience with SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, Descartes, or similar
Why This Role
- New roles: you'll design the process and the reporting yourself
- Direct impact on millions of dollars in annual duties and taxes
- Your work keeps materials moving into production at a company in a high-growth market
- A supply chain that's still maturing, so you'll get broad exposure and can grow quickly
