Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the delivery of materials, goods, and services required by the organization. This role ensures timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process requisitions for goods and services.
  • Communicate with vendors to gather information on pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Evaluate and select products through testing, observation, or examination.
  • Expedite orders and resolve delays to meet operational needs.
  • Estimate costs based on market knowledge and trends.
  • Determine appropriate procurement methods, including direct purchases or competitive bidding.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and bid requests.
  • Analyze bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budget and authority limits.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchases, costs, delivery timelines, product performance, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with quality control, inspection teams, and vendors to address and resolve issues with defective or substandard goods or services.
  • Stay informed on market trends, new materials, and changes in business practices relevant to assigned categories.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to develop custom-designed products based on user specifications.
  • Approve invoices for payment and ensure timely delivery of goods to end users.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of market pricing and sourcing strategies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with contract management and vendor relations.
  • Understanding of quality assurance and inventory control processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
