Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the delivery of materials, goods, and services required by the organization. This role ensures timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and process requisitions for goods and services.
- Communicate with vendors to gather information on pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Evaluate and select products through testing, observation, or examination.
- Expedite orders and resolve delays to meet operational needs.
- Estimate costs based on market knowledge and trends.
- Determine appropriate procurement methods, including direct purchases or competitive bidding.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and bid requests.
- Analyze bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budget and authority limits.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchases, costs, delivery timelines, product performance, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with quality control, inspection teams, and vendors to address and resolve issues with defective or substandard goods or services.
- Stay informed on market trends, new materials, and changes in business practices relevant to assigned categories.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to develop custom-designed products based on user specifications.
- Approve invoices for payment and ensure timely delivery of goods to end users.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of market pricing and sourcing strategies.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with contract management and vendor relations.
- Understanding of quality assurance and inventory control processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
