Senior Chartering Manager

We're looking for a Senior Chartering Manager on behalf of a major international shipping and freight forwarding player.

This job is based in Singapore but exceptional candidates from other regions will also be considered due to the company's extensive network of branches and offices.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage resources and risks, negotiate bunkers, spot and time charter deals, and market tonnage.
• Evaluate potential business development opportunities to ensure profitability and competitiveness.
• Source optimal shipping solutions and maximize potential earnings while optimizing costs.
• Identify opportunities and execute voyages on chartering in respective regions.
• Cultivate a robust customer network and analyze freight market trends to develop new strategies.
• Work with Operations and Commercial teams to ensure smooth chartering operations.
• Perform accurate charter calculations and negotiate charter party agreements, including pricing activities.
• Monitor and manage the performance of the chartering business to optimize revenue.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies or related field, but Engineering / Business will also be acceptable
• Minimum 8 years of experience in dry bulk chartering/cargo operating (can evaluate experience in related fields such as BB / OOG / project cargo).
• Demonstrable track record of projects / performance in the space.
• Ability to form and maintain relationship and willingness to engage in BD activities.
• Profound knowledge of standard shipping terms and excellent negotiation skills.
• Strong command of English and 1 other language (will be evaluated on a case by case basis).
