Senior Mechanical Engineer

Summary:
DSJ Global has partnered with a leading aerospace power manufacturer who is looking to bring in a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, drawings, and PCB outline to support new product development and improvement. The right candidate will bring a background in Battery/Electronic Packaging Design innovation and skilled in 3-D modeling and thermal stress simulations tools to verify designs.

Description:

• Design mechanical packaging for aerospace battery systems and battery chargers.
• Collaborate cross functionally with other Engineers to ensure optimal part placement and system integration.
• Validate your designs by running thermal and stress simulations using SolidWorks, Flotherm, and Ansys.
• Perform analysis and design verification aligned with aerospace standards.
• Present at Design Reviews (PDR, CDR) and deliver complete drawing packages, BOMs, and part lists.
• Support production by assisting in transitioning designs from engineering to manufacturing while driving cost reduction effort through validated alternate parts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
• 6+ years of experience in mechanical design and packaging of electronic assemblies.
• Understanding of welds, soldering, and interconnect techniques.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD and PDM for 3D modeling, drawings, and documentation.
• Strong background in designing machined, sheet metal, and cast parts for
• aerospace environments.
• Familiarity with aerospace environmental and EMI/EMC standards (DO-160, MILSTD-
• 810, MIL-STD461).
• Advanced knowledge of DFM and manufacturing process constraints.
