Designer II
DSJ Global is currently partnered with an industry leading processing equipment manufacturer who is looking to add a Designer II to their team in Springfield, MO. The Designer II is a mid-level design role responsible for creating and managing design and layout work across multiple large- and small-scale projects. This position plays a key role in translating technical specifications into production-ready documentation and supporting cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert project specifications and sales order information into manufacturing drawings and documentation.
- Generate parts lists, requisitions, and ERP records to support production.
- Review customer specifications and evaluate technical requirements for cost-effective construction.
- Identify scope deviations and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams.
- Maintain design continuity and ensure accuracy across all project documentation.
- Communicate effectively within engineering and across design disciplines.
- Review and verify technical data and calculations to ensure design quality.
- Keep project files organized and up-to-date.
- Follow drafting and design standards and industry best practices.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to design discussions.
- Collaborate with senior designers to refine modeling practices and improve design for manufacturability.
- Mentor junior designers and provide constructive feedback.
- Stay current with CAD software and industry trends to apply innovative design solutions.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in design, drafting, or a related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of design experience in pressure vessels, fluid handling systems, or similar industries required.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and material properties.
- Foundational knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASME).
