Position Overview

This role involves utilizing advanced diagnostic, repair, and preventative maintenance skills on both Diesel and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles to ensure a fleet remains in safe, reliable, and road-ready condition.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair Diesel and CNG trucks, including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, fuel systems, and propane systems.
  • Independently conduct inspections of brake systems, engine components, emissions systems, steering mechanisms, and other critical parts.
  • Mentor and guide junior-level technicians.
  • Prioritize and manage repair schedules to ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Review mechanical reports and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Perform DOT and brake inspections.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as work orders, parts ordering, and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Interpret complex electrical schematics and diagnostic data.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Effective communication across teams and with external vendors.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and computer systems.
  • CDL Class A or B preferred, or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Diesel/CNG vehicle maintenance.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, kneel, crawl, climb, and balance.
  • Visual acuity including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
  • Comfortable using computers and diagnostic equipment throughout the workday.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in physically demanding environments.
