EHS Manager

Job Summary:
The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a safe working environment within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role leads risk assessments, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize hazards and support sustainable operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT).
  • Develop and manage site-specific safety programs, training, and emergency response plans.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain environmental permits and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and leadership to integrate EHS into daily activities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement and leadership visibility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing, with strong knowledge of process safety and hazardous materials handling.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and industry standards (e.g., PSM, RCRA, ISO 14001).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Certification in safety or environmental management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
