Senior Production and Utilities Engineer
The Senior Production & Utilities Engineer is responsible for optimizing production processes and overseeing reliable operation of plant utilities within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operation of production units while supporting continuous improvement, troubleshooting, and long‑term reliability initiatives. The engineer collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and Engineering teams to enhance process performance, reduce downtime, and maintain critical utilities such as steam, compressed air, cooling water, and waste treatment systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership for day‑to‑day operation of production units and utility systems
- Analyze process performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to increase efficiency and throughput
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for process and utility equipment issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards within chemical manufacturing operations
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and system reliability improvements
- Monitor and optimize utilities consumption, energy efficiency, and system availability
- Develop standard operating procedures, training materials, and documentation for production and utility systems
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on process risk assessments, HAZOPs, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications (Typical):
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline
- Experience in chemical, petrochemical, or industrial process manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of chemical processing equipment and plant utilities (boilers, chillers, compressors, cooling towers, water treatment, etc.)
- Skilled in process troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and optimization methodologies
- Excellent communication, cross‑functional leadership, and problem‑solving skills
