As part of its continued growth and investment in the Veneto region, the company is looking to strengthen its commercial team with a talented Business Development Manager based in Padua.
The Role
This is a key front-line sales position focused on driving new business growth and expanding the company's customer base in the Padua/Veneto area.
You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building strong client relationships, and promoting a full suite of freight solutions across air, ocean, and road.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Proactively identify and target new customers across key sectors (manufacturing, industrial, fashion, retail, etc.)
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline
- Drive the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closing
Commercial Growth
- Promote and sell integrated logistics solutions across air, ocean, and road freight
- Develop tailored proposals aligned to customer supply chain needs
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to maximise profitability
Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term partnerships with key decision-makers
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on logistics strategy and solutions
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
Market Intelligence
- Monitor local market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities
- Provide insights to support commercial strategy and positioning
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with operations and pricing teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Support the successful onboarding of new clients
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in freight forwarding sales (air, ocean and/or road)
- Strong track record in new business acquisition
- Good knowledge of the Padua / Veneto logistics market
- Existing portfolio or network of potential clients is highly advantageous
- Highly motivated, target-driven, and commercially focused
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your territory effectively
- Fluent in Italian and English
