Contract Logistics Business Development Manager
DSJ Global is partnering with a leading European logistics provider to recruit a Business Development Manager within their Contract Logistics division.
Role Overview
Our client is a major player in end‑to‑end logistics solutions and is expanding its commercial footprint across the Benelux region. The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business growth, developing tailored logistics solutions, and strengthening relationships with both new and existing customers. This role plays a key part in executing the commercial strategy and supporting long‑term market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
Identify, engage, and convert prospects within targeted industries.
Develop customised logistics solutions in collaboration with internal solutions and operations teams.
Manage the full commercial cycle: opportunity identification → solution shaping → proposal/tender development → contract negotiation.
Lead and coordinate all customer interactions during the sales process.
Independently prepare quotations, tenders, and commercial documentation.
Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer contacts to drive additional revenue opportunities.
Ensure clear communication between customers and internal stakeholders.
Expand service offerings within existing accounts according to commercial goals.
Commercial Advisory
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding commercial strategy and market trends.
Monitor project progress and costs; escalate or intervene when risks arise.
Candidate Profile
Higher professional education (HBO/University), ideally in logistics or supply chain.
Strong understanding of national and international logistics markets, especially contract logistics and warehousing.
Demonstrated success in solution‑selling within logistics or supply chain services.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
Strong analytical and solution‑design capabilities.
Effective negotiator with the ability to influence and build trust.
Skilled in managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Other Requirements
Ability to work within quality and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO standards).
Ability to obtain relevant background clearance documentation when required (e.g., Certificate of Good Conduct / similar).
