Electrical Engineer
Role Summary
Design, develop, and manage industrial automation and controls projects from concept through completion, delivering solutions on time and within budget. Work across both long-term, high-visibility projects and fast‑turnaround efforts while contributing to continuous improvement of products and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, debug, and support process and automation control systems with a focus on safe operation.
- Develop automation strategies, master plans, and software configurations; troubleshoot complex system issues.
- Write and debug multi‑station PLC code, device drivers, and MMI/HMI interfaces.
- Design electrical systems including power/load calculations, logic sequencing, timing control, and interface circuitry.
- Create electrical documentation such as wiring diagrams and cable connection drawings.
- Establish and follow design standards, documentation practices, and change control processes.
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Create and execute design verification and quality testing procedures.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software, controls).
- Source and evaluate vendors and components.
- Take full ownership of assigned projects from start to finish.
Qualifications & Experience
- BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 3-5+ years of experience in industrial automation.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (UL, CSA, CE).
- Hands-on experience with major PLC platforms (e.g., Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, B&R).
- Solid understanding of electromechanical systems and automation architectures.
- Experience developing and improving engineering procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong technical, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with machine shops and manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred; SolidWorks or similar acceptable).
