Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager
DSJ Global is currently partnered with a growing manufacturing looking to bring on a Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Leader in Charlotte, NC.
Responsible for managing international logistics operations, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods across global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute freight strategies to reduce costs and improve delivery performance.
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws, including import/export regulations.
- Manage freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to meet service and cost targets.
- Review and approve freight quotes for ocean (FCL/LCL) and air shipments.
- Set up and maintain freight lanes, including cost modeling and carrier selection.
- Provide guidance on Incoterms, customs valuation, and country of origin requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IATA and IMO regulations for hazardous goods.
- Lead customs audits and serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in international logistics and trade compliance.
- Strong understanding of global shipping regulations, including hazardous materials.
- Proficient in Harmonized Tariff classification (US and EU).
- Skilled in Microsoft Office; Excel proficiency preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communicator with experience working across departments and with external partners.
