Project Engineer - Electrical

Overview

Our partner is a growing engineering and manufacturing organization seeking a Project Engineer to lead the design and execution of complex electrical infrastructure and power distribution projects. This role will serve as the technical lead throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and customer teams to deliver high-quality engineered systems on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of electrical equipment and power distribution projects from design through testing and delivery.
  • Produce and manage engineering design packages including electrical, mechanical, structural, and installation documentation.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop bills of materials and coordinate procurement activities to support project execution.
  • Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Lead designers and drafters to ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables.
  • Support testing activities, factory acceptance testing, and project commissioning efforts.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, and technical compliance throughout execution.
  • Drive resolution of technical issues, punch list items, and project closeout activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of project engineering experience within industrial, manufacturing, power systems, or related environments.
  • Experience with electrical power distribution systems, switchgear, and motor control centers.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, industry standards, and power system applications.
  • Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, electrical design software, and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with protection and control systems, substations, or relay applications.
  • Familiarity with power system analysis software such as ETAP or SKM.
  • Knowledge of ANSI, NEMA, and IEC standards.
