Site Manager
DSJ Global is searching for a Site Manager to lead a temperature-controlled warehousing operation in Rotterdam. This position carries full responsibility for the performance, safety, and commercial success of a cold storage facility supporting perishable supply chains.
The role will involve:
- Full accountability for the overall performance of a cold storage site, including operational delivery, financial outcomes, and customer service levels
- Leading all on-site warehouse activities, ensuring efficient inbound, storage, value-added, and outbound operations within a temperature-controlled environment
- Maintaining strong standards across health, safety, security, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Ownership and active management of site profitability, cost control, utilisation, and productivity
- Preparing operating budgets, forecasts, and performance reviews, with responsibility for corrective actions where required
- Managing customer relationships at site level, including service delivery, contract adherence, and performance reviews
- Supporting onboarding of new customers and volume growth in collaboration with regional commercial teams
- Contributing operational input to tenders, bids, and solution design for perishable logistics customers
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives, including optimisation of processes, labour models, and asset utilisation
- Building and developing a capable site leadership team, with a strong focus on engagement, training, and succession planning
- Embedding a safety-first culture and ensuring all employees and subcontractors comply with site and company standards
- Managing third-party providers and subcontractors to ensure service, cost, and compliance targets are met
- Overseeing facility, lease, and contract administration in line with internal governance requirements
- Ensuring systems, IT, and security standards are consistently applied and maintained
- Acting as the primary escalation point for operational, people, and customer-related issues at site level
The successful candidate is likely to bring:
- Extensive experience leading warehouse or site operations, ideally within temperature-controlled or perishable logistics environments
- A track record of managing complex operations with full commercial and financial accountability
- Strong people leadership capability, with experience developing teams in fast-paced operational settings
- Solid financial understanding, with confidence managing budgets, cost performance, and site profitability
- Experience operating within larger, international or matrix-led organisations
- A continuous improvement mindset, with exposure to lean or operational excellence methodologies
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including direct customer interaction
- Good knowledge of the local logistics market and customer landscape
- Fluent written and spoken Dutch and English
