Overview
We are seeking a Strategic Buyer with proven experience in the construction sector to support procurement and sourcing activities for a consultancy. The role focuses on developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost efficiency across construction-related categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for construction-related categories (e.g., materials, subcontractors, equipment).
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers and vendors aligned with project requirements.
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure cost-effective and high-quality solutions.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and risks within the construction and infrastructure sectors.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (project managers, engineers, consultants) to define procurement needs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contract terms, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and monitor supplier performance, including KPIs, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and cost optimization.
- Support tendering processes, including RFP/RFQ preparation and bid evaluation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-7+ years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, with a strong focus on construction or infrastructure projects.
- Solid understanding of construction materials, subcontracting, and project-based procurement.
- Proven experience in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Fluent in German and English (additional languages are an advantage).
