We are partnering with a leading international logistics provider looking to add an Air Import Specialist to their team at Schiphol. As an Air Import Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring international shipments move seamlessly from arrival to final delivery, working closely with customers, airlines, customs authorities, transport providers, and global offices.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage the complete air import process from shipment arrival through to final delivery.
- Coordinate with airlines, handling agents, customs brokers, transport providers, and overseas offices.
- Ensure accurate preparation and processing of import documentation, including AWBs and customs paperwork.
- Monitor shipments proactively and keep customers updated every step of the way.
- Resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively to maintain service excellence.
- Arrange customs clearance and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Process billing, invoicing, and cost control activities.
- Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, acting as a trusted point of contact.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in Air Import Freight Forwarding.
- Strong understanding of international air freight operations and import procedures.
- Knowledge of customs processes and import documentation.
- Experience with CargoWise or similar freight forwarding systems is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
- Fluent English; Dutch is a plus.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
