We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Environmental Health and Safety. The Director of EHS for Packaging is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs across all packaging operations. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while fostering a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

The Director of Environmental Health and Safety will be responsible for:

  • Lead the development and execution of EHS strategies specific to packaging operations, including manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement proactive safety measures to reduce workplace incidents.
  • Oversee hazardous materials handling, waste management, and pollution prevention programs.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs tailored to packaging processes and equipment.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate EHS into packaging design and process changes.
  • Manage EHS audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external auditors.

The Director of Environmental Health and Safety will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive EHS experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within manufacturing or packaging.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging machinery, materials handling, and industrial safety standards.
