The FSQA Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze FSQ issues from audits, operations, and customer feedback.
- Identify and implement corrective and preventive actions for program deviations and audit findings.
- Manage and improve product specifications and internal process documentation.
- Serve as FSQ subject matter expert in new product development and launches.
- Develop and maintain product and supplier information systems.
- Schedule third-party product audits, review results, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Maintain facility and product approval records for all suppliers.
- Coordinate and attend supplier audits with third-party auditors.
- Lead internal food safety and quality audits at production facilities.
- Report audit outcomes and corrective actions to senior leadership.
- Train staff on product quality and safety during packing.
- Participate in mock recalls and apply learnings.
- Oversee employee onboarding in GMPs, HACCP, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal FSQA Manager candidate will have the following skillset:
- 5+ years' experience in meat and/or poultry processing, with 3+ years in QA management or supervision
- HACCP and SQF certified; strong background in food safety and quality systems
- Skilled in developing and managing FSQ programs and documentation
- Proficient in writing and interpreting red meat specs; experience with beef, pork, poultry, and lamb
- Experienced in conducting and analyzing product quality and third-party facility audits
- Strong knowledge of product lotting, traceability, and identity preservation
- Proficient in managing product and process data
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in food science or similar preferred
- Solid reading, writing, and math skills
