Global Supply Manager
What You'll Do
- Own the global sourcing strategy for steel and metal materials (sheet, plate, bar, tube, forgings, castings) and mechanical components (machined parts, fasteners, structural assemblies, enclosures, brackets, etc.).
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers across North America, Europe, and Asia, balancing cost, quality, and lead time.
- Lead RFQs, cost modeling, and contract negotiations to secure long-term value and supply assurance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics to align sourcing with technical and operational requirements.
- Develop and implement Make vs Buy frameworks, supplier scorecards, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support NPI and production ramp-up by ensuring material and component readiness and supplier scalability.
- Monitor global market trends in metals and mechanical systems to inform sourcing decisions and hedge against volatility.
What You Bring
- 5-10+ years of experience in global supply chain management, with a focus on steel, metals, and mechanical components.
- Proven success in strategic sourcing, supplier development, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Experience working in climate-tech, automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with contract structures, pricing agreements, and logistics terms.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and ambiguous environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and commercial teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with ERP systems, cost modeling tools, and supply chain analytics.
- Familiarity with sustainability standards and low-carbon material sourcing.
- Background in mechanical engineering or materials science is a plus.
