Quality Manager
The Quality Manager oversees all quality assurance and control activities to ensure heavy machinery components and finished equipment meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards. This role leads a team of quality engineers and inspectors, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with ISO 9001 or other relevant quality frameworks. The Quality Manager collaborates closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Service teams to improve product reliability, reduce defects, and enhance manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage quality teams, ensuring consistent inspection, testing, and verification of parts and assemblies
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 and customer/industry standards
- Investigate nonconformances, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to improve manufacturability and reduce variability in production processes
- Oversee supplier quality activities, including audits, qualification, and performance monitoring
- Track and report quality metrics, analyze trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits
Qualifications (Typical):
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field
- Experience in heavy machinery, industrial equipment, or mechanical manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, PPAP, and root cause methodologies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
