Regional Structural Engineer
DSJ Global is currently partnering with a global manufacturing company to identify a candidate for a Senior Regional Structural Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert for Structural Design across multiple manufacturing facilities. This individual will be responsible for performing structural design for industrial projects for gravity, lateral and equipment loading, and the preparation of construction documents. This position will require the ideal candidate to possess knowledge of building codes, construction materials, industry standards and analytical software for leading the design, analysis, and execution of diverse projects. You'll ensure all solutions meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance, while working closely with clients, project managers, construction professionals, and other cross-functional teams.
This is a remote opportunity with up to 40% travel to manufacturing sites, but the ideal candidate will be based on the east coast.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of complex facility structural projects, overseeing full project lifecycle.
- Create and review 3D models using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and other specialized design software.
- Conduct on-site investigations, assessments, and field measurements.
- Develop engineering calculations to support the design and work with engineers and drafters for production of drawings.
- Assign responsibilities and effectively mentor members of the project team.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with the project managers and other project participants.
- Provide SME (Subject Matter Expert) reviews for structural design.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams - including structural, electrical, and instrumentation engineers - to ensure seamless integration of overall project designs.
- Construction administration.
- Manage project deliverables, ensuring design packages are completed on time and within budget.
- Champion safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout all phases of design and implementation.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports, proposals, and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and materials to continuously enhance design processes and project outcomes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required for this position.
- Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer licensure required.
- 8+ years of experience, with a strong emphasis on structural design - strong preference for experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Deep knowledge of piping design principles, including material selection, stress analysis, and system layout.
- Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling software, such as Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards.
- Proven experience in project management, including leading teams, coordinating across disciplines, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities, with the confidence to engage effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% to manufacturing and project sites, depending on project needs.
