Senior Mechanical Engineer
A leading medical device manufacturer is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the development of innovative surgical equipment and patient positioning systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on highly engineered products that combine structural design, mechanism development, and electromechanical systems, helping improve outcomes for patients and healthcare providers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop metal, plastic, and composite structures used in surgical and medical device applications
- Develop electromechanical mechanisms and drive systems used for patient positioning and motion control
- Lead product development activities from concept through prototyping, testing, verification, and validation
- Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, manufacturing, clinical, and service teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing and cost targets
- Analyze product performance and implement design improvements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost reduction
- Work within a regulated medical device environment while maintaining high engineering and quality standards
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience designing complex mechanical and electromechanical products
- Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience with structural design, mechanism design, and product development
- Ability to develop innovative solutions and solve challenging engineering problems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced product development environment
