Sr. EHS Manager
We are seeking an EHS Manager who thrives in a dynamic environment, works collaboratively across operations, and is committed to protecting employees, optimizing processes, and maintaining full regulatory compliance. In this role, you will coach and support EHS personnel, serve as a critical liaison with regulatory agencies, and help shape environmental and safety strategy as the organization continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic EHS Management
- Coach and assist current and future WEI EHS professionals in implementing EHS Management System policies, programs, initiatives, communications, and strategies across all plant and office locations (24/7 operations).
- Drive the strategic development, deployment, and continuous improvement of environmental and safety initiatives across all facilities, including new M&A locations.
- Initiate and uphold policies that ensure personnel accountability for high‑standard EHS performance.
- Lead departmental budgeting, cost‑containment strategies, hiring processes, and performance management for indirect reports.
Regulatory Compliance & Standards
- Ensure companywide compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Serve as primary liaison with OSHA, EPA, state/local environmental agencies, law enforcement, and emergency/crisis management organizations.
- Advise operations and M&A leadership on EHS compliance strategies and emerging regulatory requirements.
- Develop, standardize, and maintain compliant environmental and safety policies and procedures across all facilities.
Program Oversight, Auditing & Reporting
- Audit environmental and safety programs to identify gaps and develop corrective work plans to drive performance toward a zero‑NOV culture.
- Implement and maintain reporting mechanisms for environmental incidents, injuries, and compliance activities.
- Drive EHS training for all levels of personnel, ensuring understanding of regulatory obligations and company safety programs.
- Provide oversight and improvements for WEI wastewater activities and related compliance (SME focus area).
Collaboration & Operational Support
- Work collaboratively with operations to reduce EHS‑related costs while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Develop and enforce contractor site safety expectations in alignment with OSHA and company regulations.
- Support EHS leaders across facilities through coaching, performance development, and alignment to organizational objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
- CSP preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Management, Safety, Chemistry, Life Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
- 7-10 years of progressive environmental management experience; includes 5-7 years of EHS compliance and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS laws and regulations.
- Experience in manufacturing and wastewater treatment strongly preferred.
- Proven problem‑solving, incident resolution, and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present to small and large groups.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant applications.
- Experience in project management, personnel development, trend analysis, and program creation.
