BD Manager
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager with a strong background in the Aerospace sector to lead strategic growth initiatives and customer engagements. This role requires deep ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) knowledge, strong analytical skills for reviewing and interpreting contracts, and a solid track record of business growth in aerospace. The position involves approximately 50% travel to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support program capture and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities in the aerospace market.
Lead capture and proposal activities for aerospace programs, ensuring ITAR compliance throughout.
Analyze contracts, RFPs, and customer documentation to assess risk, pricing, and compliance issues.
Develop strategic partnerships and maintain strong client relationships within the defense and commercial aerospace sectors.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, legal, finance, and executive leadership) to align business strategies.
Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform business strategy and positioning.
Support negotiations of terms, pricing, and technical requirements with customers and partners.
Required Qualifications:
5-7 years of proven business development experience within the Aerospace industry.
Strong working knowledge and application of ITAR compliance.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze complex contracts and legal agreements.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DoD, NASA, or international aerospace clients.
Familiarity with government procurement and export compliance.
Background in engineering or technical program management a plus.
