The Role
We are seeking a highly driven Regional Business Development Manager to spearhead new business acquisition across Emilia-Romagna, one of Italy's most important industrial and manufacturing regions.
This role is focused on winning new customers, developing strategic relationships, and positioning the company as a preferred air and ocean freight partner for SMEs and large exporters/importers.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development (Primary Focus)
- Identify, target, and win new clients across key industries (manufacturing, automotive, industrial, fashion, etc.)
- Build a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, and market engagement
- Drive the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure
Market Growth Strategy
- Develop and execute a regional sales plan aligned with company growth targets
- Identify market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
- Position value-added logistics solutions to differentiate from competitors
Client Engagement
- Lead high-level commercial discussions with decision-makers
- Design tailored air and ocean freight solutions based on customer requirements
- Build long-term strategic relationships to drive repeat and scalable business
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with operations and pricing teams to deliver competitive and reliable solutions
- Ensure smooth onboarding of new customers and alignment with service delivery teams
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record in new business sales within freight forwarding, ideally air & ocean
- Strong understanding of the Emilia-Romagna market and key industry verticals
- Demonstrated success in hunting and winning new clients
- Existing network of potential customers and industry contacts is highly desirable
- Commercially driven, resilient, and target-oriented mindset
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Fluent in Italian and English
