The Role

We are seeking a highly driven Regional Business Development Manager to spearhead new business acquisition across Emilia-Romagna, one of Italy's most important industrial and manufacturing regions.

This role is focused on winning new customers, developing strategic relationships, and positioning the company as a preferred air and ocean freight partner for SMEs and large exporters/importers.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development (Primary Focus)

    • Identify, target, and win new clients across key industries (manufacturing, automotive, industrial, fashion, etc.)
    • Build a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, and market engagement
    • Drive the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure
  • Market Growth Strategy

    • Develop and execute a regional sales plan aligned with company growth targets
    • Identify market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
    • Position value-added logistics solutions to differentiate from competitors
  • Client Engagement

    • Lead high-level commercial discussions with decision-makers
    • Design tailored air and ocean freight solutions based on customer requirements
    • Build long-term strategic relationships to drive repeat and scalable business
  • Internal Collaboration

    • Work closely with operations and pricing teams to deliver competitive and reliable solutions
    • Ensure smooth onboarding of new customers and alignment with service delivery teams

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record in new business sales within freight forwarding, ideally air & ocean
  • Strong understanding of the Emilia-Romagna market and key industry verticals
  • Demonstrated success in hunting and winning new clients
  • Existing network of potential customers and industry contacts is highly desirable
  • Commercially driven, resilient, and target-oriented mindset
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Fluent in Italian and English
