Category Manager
A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Category Manager to drive strategic sourcing initiatives within metal fabrication and related direct materials. This role owns category strategy, supplier performance, and cost optimization across a diverse supply base.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute category strategies for metal fabrication commodities.
- Lead sourcing events (RFIs/RFPs) and manage full negotiation cycles.
- Use cost modeling and market analysis to identify savings and supplier consolidation opportunities.
- Manage supplier relationships, contracts, KPIs, and performance reviews.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and other teams to align on sourcing strategies.
- Support continuous improvement and risk mitigation across the supply base.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; MBA a plus.
- 5+ years in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with metal fabrication (welding, stamping, machining, casting, forging, etc.).
- Strong negotiation background with measurable cost savings results.
- Experience with domestic and international suppliers.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
