Distribution Center Supervisor
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Distribution Center Supervisor to support daily warehouse operations at a high‑volume regional facility. This role is responsible for leading warehouse associates and ensuring inbound, outbound, and inventory activities are executed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
The DC Supervisor will oversee day‑to‑day floor operations, workforce planning, and process execution while maintaining service levels and accuracy standards in a fast‑paced environment. This is a hands‑on leadership role with accountability for people, performance, and operational results.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and participate in the fulfillment of orders by part number and quantity based on prioritized pick tickets, including customer orders, inter‑branch transfers, and returns.
- Plan and manage daily shipping and receiving schedules to ensure inbound and outbound freight is processed according to defined timelines.
- Provide input on staffing needs and assist with labor planning based on volume fluctuations.
- Prepare, pack, label, and ship orders via parcel, postal service, LTL, and local delivery routes.
- Ensure products are accurately picked, staged, and loaded for delivery with required documentation, maintaining accuracy levels of 99% or higher.
- Train new hires on equipment operation, warehouse procedures, and facility standards; follow up to ensure training effectiveness.
- Adjust staffing levels and overtime to meet changing workload demands.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure shipment deadlines and service requirements are met.
- Develop and implement receiving and distribution plans that effectively utilize labor, floor space, and equipment.
- Modify work processes as needed to meet productivity, safety, and service goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, safety conditions, and equipment utilization.
- Address operational issues and support team members in resolving day‑to‑day problems.
- Motivate associates to meet performance and service expectations.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and management to align departmental activities.
- Report equipment or system issues to maintenance or appropriate support teams.
- Enforce company policies and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Actively participate in physical inventory counts and inventory accuracy initiatives.
- Complete special projects or assignments as needed in support of warehouse leadership.
- Support inventory control processes and basic recordkeeping.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent is preferred w/ 3 years of warehouse supervisory experience
- Experience working in a distribution, parts, or inventory‑driven environment.
- Familiarity with WMS and strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and basic data tools.

- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate expectations in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
- Comfortable making real‑time operational decisions in a fast‑moving environment.
