Engineering Manager (M/F/D)
Overview
Our client is a leading name in the European spirits and beverage industry, recognised for its diverse portfolio of iconic brands and commitment to innovation. As they expand and modernise operations, they are seeking a Technical Manager to oversee technical activities at their packaging plant in Germany. This is a senior-level role ideal for someone ready to drive performance, lead a team, and play a hands-on role in optimising production processes and launching new product lines.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a small team of technical specialists, supporting collaboration, training, and performance development.
Manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure high equipment uptime, troubleshoot issues, and oversee spare parts procurement.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency across bottling operations.
Drive capital investment projects, including equipment upgrades and automation initiatives, and support technical setup for new product lines.
Develop SOPs, conduct trials, validate processes, and ensure seamless integration of new production lines.
Monitor production KPIs, perform data analysis to improve equipment effectiveness (OEE), and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
Foster a strong safety culture and maintain adherence to all HSE protocols.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
5+ years' experience in a technical leadership role in bottling, preferably within the beverage or alcohol industry
In-depth understanding of bottling equipment, production systems, and process optimization
Proven track record in maintenance management, continuous improvement, and new line commissioning
Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with PLCs and automation systems
Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken)
Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
Desirable:
Experience with ERP systems
Project management certification
Background in highly regulated industries
