Overview
A well-established chemical production facility is seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of equipment and infrastructure maintenance. This leadership role is central to maintaining operational reliability, safety standards, and long-term asset performance. The successful candidate will bring a strategic mindset to maintenance planning and execution, with a strong foundation in modern maintenance systems and methodologies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and manage a structured maintenance workflow using a work order system to ensure efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of tasks.
- Lead the implementation of advanced maintenance strategies, including predictive and preventive programs, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and root cause analysis.
- Guide and mentor a team of technicians and planners, fostering a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and safety teams to identify maintenance priorities, reduce downtime, and enhance equipment reliability.
- Oversee maintenance-related budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor contracts to ensure cost-effective and compliant operations.
- Ensure all maintenance activities align with environmental, health, and safety regulations applicable to chemical manufacturing.
- Leverage CMMS tools to monitor work orders, track asset performance, and analyze key metrics for continuous improvement.
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and plant turnarounds as needed.
- Promote lean practices and continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Six Sigma, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Serve as a safety advocate, ensuring risk mitigation is embedded in all maintenance operations.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- At least 7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, including 3+ years in a leadership role within a chemical or process-driven environment.
- Hands-on experience with CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, eMaint) and work order management systems.
- Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles and maintenance frameworks such as RCM, TPM, and Lean Maintenance.
- Effective leadership and communication skills with a track record of team development and cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards including OSHA, EPA, and Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Experience managing budgets, contractors, and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Preferred certifications: Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Experience with RCA, FMEA, and reliability analysis tools is a plus.
