Product Manager

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Product Management, this role is responsible for developing and executing the strategic direction of assigned physical product lines-not software or digital platforms-to drive sales and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive aftermarket or industrial product management, with a focus on tangible goods. This is not a technology, DevOps, or data science role, and candidates with only software or digital product experience will not be a fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and execution for assigned physical product lines, ensuring performance exceeds market trends.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform product decisions-with a focus on mechanical and aftermarket components, not digital tools or platforms.
  • Develop product roadmaps that align with OEM trends and aftermarket timing, using insights from industry data providers.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of new part numbers and products to support growth and profitability in hardware-based product categories.
  • Evaluate new product opportunities through structured feasibility assessments, considering market demand, pricing, and competition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-especially Engineering, Sales, and Category Management-to manage product lifecycles from launch to end-of-life.
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure high-quality, differentiated physical products are delivered to market.
  • Maintain accurate competitive part number interchanges and ensure data consistency.
  • Serve as a key liaison across internal teams including pricing, technical service, customer service, and marketing.
  • Support the commercial team in building business cases and strategies to win new customer opportunities.
  • Contribute to accurate forecasting by understanding key business and market drivers.
  • Participate in ERP data maintenance activities related to product management.
  • Assist in developing marketing messaging for end users, buyers, and commercial teams-focused on physical product value propositions.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and customer events, supporting product education and customer service.
  • Foster a collaborative, results-driven work environment.
  • Travel up to 15% for factory visits, trade shows, and customer meetings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product management for physical goods, preferably in the automotive aftermarket or a related industrial sector.
  • Strong understanding of the automotive aftermarket landscape, including key market research tools and data providers.
  • Experience working with OEMs or in a B2B environment managing tangible product lines and customer relationships.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% as needed.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate strategies and product value.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-first mindset.
  • Must be open to relocation to Dallas, TX or Daphne, AL.
