Reliability Engineer

Overview:

The Reliability Engineer is a strategic role focused on enhancing the long-term reliability and efficiency of plant operations. This individual leads initiatives to improve equipment performance, ensures compliance with mechanical integrity standards, and supports cross-functional teams in diagnosing and resolving reliability issues. By applying industry best practices and engineering tools, the Reliability Engineer helps optimize plant uptime, safety, and overall operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement site-wide reliability initiatives including lubrication standards, vibration monitoring, and alignment procedures.

  • Oversee Mechanical Integrity Programs and ensure adherence to PSM, API, ASME, NFPA, and other regulatory standards.

  • Act as a technical resource for capital projects, incident investigations, and day-to-day equipment troubleshooting.

  • Use tools like FMEAs, MTBF, and RCA to identify failure risks and implement long-term reliability solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering; 10+ years in chemical plant maintenance/engineering; 5+ years in reliability engineering.

  • Knowledge of PSM Mechanical Integrity, industry standards (API, NBIC, etc.), and reliability engineering tools.
