Safety Coordinator

A well-established food manufacturing company is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join its team at its Philadelphia headquarters. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a company that values quality, safety, and employee well-being.

Position Overview:

The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This role involves leading safety initiatives, conducting training, and collaborating with various departments to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update safety and environmental programs (e.g., LOTO, PPE, ERP, Hazard Communication)
  • Facilitate Safety Committee meetings and conduct compliance audits
  • Lead safety training sessions, new hire orientations, and weekly huddles
  • Investigate incidents and perform root cause analyses
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and timely reporting
  • Conduct ergonomic evaluations and Job Safety Analyses (JSA)
  • Oversee safety inspections (fire equipment, AEDs, hoists, etc.)
  • Collaborate with HR and Maintenance to drive safety improvements
  • Maintain labor law postings and manage drug screening processes

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of safety experience (manufacturing preferred)
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations (General Industry)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish or other language) a plus
  • Experience in companies with 500+ employees is a plus

  • On-site role
  • Moderate physical activity; frequent work in cold environments (28-35°F)
