Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Summary

We're seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to drive the development, optimisation, and implementation of manufacturing processes for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA). This role focuses on delivering high-quality, cost-effective production while supporting new product introduction, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes, technologies, and methods for PCBA and cable assemblies
  • Create and maintain assembly procedures and documentation
  • Partner with design teams on DFMA (Design for Manufacturability & Assembly)
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), including cost estimates and process readiness
  • Identify, validate, and implement new equipment, tooling, and processes
  • Design fixtures and production equipment to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and product issues, driving root cause resolution
  • Monitor and improve production rates, yields, and cost performance
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies
  • Provide technical training and mentor-ship to manufacturing and engineering teams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related)
  • 7+ years experience in manufacturing/process engineering, ideally within electronics/PCBA
  • Strong experience with surface mount (SMT), through-hole, and PCBA testing
  • Hands-on expertise in troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with CAD (2D design), schematics, and assembly design
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, and process validation
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) - Factory Logix preferred
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC CID (Designer) certification
  • Experience with automation / semi-automated equipment design and debugging
  • Knowledge of machine programming, controls, and I/O logic
  • Project management experience (MS Project)
