Key Responsibilities Include:
- Capital Budget Oversight: Develop and manage the capital budget for supported sites, ensuring alignment with priorities, timelines, and cost targets.
- Strategic Portfolio Management: Maintain accurate capital project forecasts and reporting, and develop a comprehensive 5-year capital plan.
- Project Planning & Risk Management: Lead cost estimation and scheduling efforts, define success criteria, and proactively manage project risks.
- Procurement & Specification Management: Ensure clear specifications for equipment and services, supporting vendor selection based on EHS, technical, and cost factors.
- Standards & Resource Allocation: Ensure project design and execution meet industry standards and best practices, while efficiently allocating resources to meet site and company goals.
- Continuous Improvement & Project Closure: Drive improvements in project management practices, validate project outcomes, and ensure proper documentation and handover at closure.
- Enhance Site Safety Through Capital Projects: Ensure that capital project execution strengthens site infrastructure and reduces the risk of major incidents.
- Implement Risk Management Protocols: Follow the Management of Change (MOC) process to conduct thorough hazard identification and risk analysis during project planning and execution.
- Collaborate on Risk Assessments: Work with service providers to develop Risk Assessment Method Statements that align with Permit to Work procedures and Cardinal Rules.
- Commit to Zero Harm: Aim for zero injuries, spills, and incidents throughout all phases of project construction.
Preferred Skillset:
- BS in chemical, mechanical, or related engineering
- 10+ years of chemical manufacturing experience
- Experience with national and international standards and regulations
