About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Airfreight Export Team Lead to oversee and mentor a team of six export specialists. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day operational performance, compliance, service delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives within the export department.
This role requires someone with deep industry expertise, strong people‑management skills, and the confidence to lead in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of six Air Export Coordinators, ensuring performance excellence and high service standards.
- Oversee all air export operations, including quotations, bookings, documentation, and compliance with global and local regulations.
- Ensure full adherence to customs, aviation security, and IATA requirements.
- Foster strong relationships with airlines, suppliers, and key customers.
- Monitor KPI performance, drive process improvements, and contribute to strategic operational decisions.
- Manage escalations and provide technical expertise to support the team.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with import, road, warehouse, and global network teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience in airfreight export operations (essential).
- Proven experience leading or supervising a team within a freight forwarding environment.
- Strong knowledge of IATA regulations, HMRC export procedures, and aviation security standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Proficient in freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office.
