Vendor Master Data Manager

The Vendor MDM Lead is responsible for managing vendor master data across ERP and Source‑to‑Pay systems. This role partners closely with Procurement, Accounts Payable, and cross‑functional teams to improve vendor data quality, standardize processes, and strengthen vendor onboarding and compliance. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, structured problem‑solving, and the ability to drive data governance in a fast‑paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and enforce standardized naming conventions, data formats, and vendor data governance practices.
  • Validate and maintain vendor master data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Integrate vendor data processes with ERP platforms and ensure alignment with spend analytics needs.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify duplicates, discrepancies, and data quality gaps.
  • Automate and optimize vendor data workflows to reduce manual errors and improve efficiency.
  • Manage the full vendor onboarding process, including qualification, risk screening, financial analysis, and information security review.
  • Maintain vendor status and track compliance with qualification criteria.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for vendor data and manage vendor onboarding tools (e.g., Coupa).
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on vendor data, onboarding, and compliance.
  • Monitor vendor risks and support reporting for risk and compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely onboarding and sustain data accuracy.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in Vendor Master Data Management and vendor qualification.
  • Expertise with ERP and MDM systems such as SAP MDG, Microsoft MDS, or D365.
  • Experience with vendor onboarding and Source‑to‑Pay platforms; Coupa experience required.
  • Strong understanding of end‑to‑end vendor onboarding, risk evaluation, and tools such as D&B, Rapid Ratings, or Interos.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally in a dynamic environment with strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Experience leading or managing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or logistics (advanced degree preferred).
  • Supply chain or purchasing certifications (e.g., ISM) are a plus
