Senior Project Engineer Specialist

Summary:

As a Project Engineering Specialist, you are responsible for managing large or complex engineering projects from initiation through closeout. You oversee all aspects of execution, including safety, operations and maintenance coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and compliance. You lead cross-functional teams, ensure alignment with business goals, and maintain accountability for project success across technical and administrative domains.

Responsibilities:

• Identify project execution strategies that align with business needs and corporate direction.
• Lead technical and administrative efforts to meet project scope, design, safety, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Prioritize safety by developing and communicating a comprehensive safety plan.
• Align engineering teams with project goals and deliverables in collaboration with the Project Leadership Team.
• Establish communication structures, including tools, meetings, and decision-making protocols.
• Set up SAP Work Breakdown Structures for cost management and asset tracking.
• Develop engineering, procurement, and construction strategies based on industry best practices.
• Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders through reports and reviews.
• Implement cost and schedule controls and communicate progress to leadership.
• Manage scope changes through a defined approval process.
• Organize and define roles for the project start-up team during early planning stages.
• Collaborate with HSE&S to secure necessary permits.
• Build strong working relationships across departments including engineering, finance, operations, and procurement.
• Ensure proper project closure and final asset settlement.

Qualifications:

• Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of project management experience.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in a petrochemical plant environment.
