About the Role

As the Business Development Manager, you will drive commercial growth for our client's e‑commerce logistics solutions across the Netherlands. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and closing new business opportunities within the Dutch e‑commerce ecosystem - including online retailers, marketplace sellers, brands, 3PL users, and high‑volume D2C shippers.

This role combines strategic market development with hands‑on sales execution and requires a strong understanding of fulfillment, last‑mile delivery, cross‑border logistics, and value‑added services for e‑commerce.


Key Responsibilities

New Business Acquisition

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the Netherlands, focusing on e‑commerce brands, webshops, marketplaces, and high‑growth online retailers.
  • Develop a strong pipeline through proactive outreach, networking, industry events, and referrals.
  • Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiation and close.

Solution Design & Commercial Proposals

  • Work closely with operations, pricing, and product teams to create tailored logistics solutions (fulfillment, parcel delivery, returns, cross‑border, value‑added services).
  • Translate customer pain points into actionable and commercially viable service proposals.

Market Development & Strategy

  • Map the Dutch e‑commerce logistics market, identifying trends, competitive activity, and new revenue streams.
  • Provide market feedback to leadership to support product enhancements and strategic decisions.
  • Position our brand as a preferred partner through consistent market visibility.

Account Handover & Internal Collaboration

  • Ensure smooth onboarding of new clients by collaborating with implementation, operations, and account management teams.
  • Support internal teams with clear communication of customer needs, SLAs, and commercial agreements.

Performance & Reporting

  • Track and report sales performance, pipeline development, and forecasting accuracy.
  • Maintain CRM discipline and ensure all activities and opportunities are captured accurately.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets in line with company growth objectives.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in logistics, e‑commerce logistics, parcel, fulfillment, or 3PL sales in the Netherlands.
  • Proven track record in new business development and closing mid‑size to large commercial deals.
  • Strong understanding of e‑commerce delivery models, last‑mile networks, fulfillment operations, and cross‑border flows.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Fluent Dutch and English (spoken and written).
  • Self‑driven, highly commercial, and comfortable working in a fast‑growing scale‑up environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel across the Netherlands.
