Location: Clearwater, FL (On-site only)
Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. Person (due to ITAR regulations)
Travel: Approximately 25-30% (domestic and international)

A well-established company specializing in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment is seeking a Business Unit Manager to lead a key product line at its Clearwater, Florida facility. This is a fully on-site position with no hybrid or remote work options.

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, the Business Unit Manager is responsible for the full ownership of the product line, including strategic direction, operational execution, and financial performance. This role leads a cross-functional team and plays a critical role in driving growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional team (sales, operations, engineering, quality) to achieve business unit goals
  • Own profit and loss (P&L) accountability and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Drive value creation through value-based pricing, cost reduction initiatives, and market analysis
  • Identify and pursue profitable new business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, and end users
  • Influence customer purchasing decisions and negotiate contractual agreements
  • Support the development and execution of annual business plans and budgets
  • Represent the company at trade shows, customer visits, and industry events

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team engagement capabilities
  • Deep understanding of value creation and business strategy
  • Data-driven decision-making with sound business judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • High sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple programs to maximize value
  • Broad business knowledge preferred, including technical sales, engineering, finance, and operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Aerospace or industrial sector experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of delivering results in previous roles
  • Must be eligible to work with ITAR-controlled products and data
