Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Global Key Account Manager to join the team, working from France. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding relationships with key global accounts, with an emphasis on ocean freight. This position requires a seasoned professional with the ability to drive gross profit (GP), manage key portfolios, and bring strategic value to the business. The role is focused on high-value industries such as luxury fashion, retail, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, FMCG, and automotive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with key global clients across vertical sectors. Experience with: luxury fashion, retail, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, FMCG, and automotive would be beneficial.
- Sales & Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the business with current clients.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute account strategies to ensure client satisfaction, long-term partnerships, and increased revenue generation. Focus on driving value for both the company and clients.
- Freight Focus: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery. Leverage expertise in a range of transport solutions to bring value to clients and ensure the growth of the company's division.
- Profitability: Ensure that all accounts are profitable, maintaining an eye on gross margin while managing logistics costs. Maximise the potential of each client portfolio.
- Industry Expertise: Utilise industry-specific knowledge and experience to offer tailored logistics solutions, particularly for industries like luxury fashion, retail, pharma, aerospace, FMCG, and automotive.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (operations, marketing, customer service) to ensure excellent service delivery and effective execution of account strategies.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to ensure the company remains a leader in the global logistics and freight forwarding space.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in the freight forwarding industry, with specific expertise in ocean freight.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in managing large, high-value accounts, driving gross profit (GP), and delivering business growth.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of global freight forwarding, particularly in ocean freight, and familiarity with the unique needs of industries such as luxury fashion, retail, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, FMCG, and automotive.
- Relationship Management: Strong ability to build and sustain relationships with senior-level stakeholders in large global companies.
- Sales-Driven: Ability to bring in new clients, ensuring business development and sustainable growth would be a bonus.
- Strategic Thinker: Strong strategic thinking capabilities to design and execute long-term business strategies for key clients.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and French is essential. Proficiency in other European languages is a plus.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients, attend industry events, and collaborate with teams globally.
