Commercial Director (Retail Vertical)

We are partnering with a leading global logistics organisation to appoint a commercially driven Sales Director to lead retail-focused growth across mainland Europe. This role can be based anywhere in Europe and requires fluency in French, with a strong focus on developing strategic relationships with key retail clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business, expanding key accounts, and delivering innovative, customer-centric logistics solutions across a complex and competitive market. This is a high-impact role suited to a dynamic and results-oriented sales leader with a strong understanding of European retail supply chains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan focused on retail clients across Europe
- Identify and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships
- Build strong partnerships with key decision-makers within retail and consumer sectors
- Design and deliver tailored logistics solutions across freight forwarding and contract logistics services
- Collaborate with internal teams across operations, solutions design, and procurement
- Lead commercial negotiations and manage contract development
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities
- Deliver against revenue and margin targets across a multi-country portfolio
Key Requirements:
- Fluency in French and strong experience operating across European markets
- Proven track record in logistics sales within freight forwarding or contract logistics
- Strong experience working with retail, fashion, or e-commerce clients
- Demonstrated success in developing and growing key accounts
- Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Ability to deliver tailored, value-led solutions in complex environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
