Director of Global Manufacturing Process Engineering
DSJ Global are partnered with a global manufacturing organization who are seeking a Director of Global Manufacturing Process Engineering. This role is responsible for setting and executing the long-term strategy for manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement, improving efficiency and quality, and scaling robust manufacturing solutions from concept through full production. The position reports to the VP of Global Engineering and is an on-site leadership role based in Minnesota.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute global manufacturing process engineering strategy.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) from R&D through manufacturing, including DFM/DFA and process validation.
- Evaluate and implement advanced manufacturing technologies and automation.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team.
- Partner with Quality to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Drive cost reduction, resource optimization, and vendor management.
Core Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline.
- 12+ years of manufacturing process engineering experience, including 7+ years in leadership.
- Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred).
- Experience in GMP-regulated medtech or similar environments.
- Deep knowledge of DFM/DFA and complex manufacturing processes.
- Proven leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and executive communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- MBA or advanced technical/business degree.
- Experience with MES, ERP, statistical analysis tools, and CAD/CAM.
- Background in life sciences or healthcare manufacturing.
- Experience with industrial automation, AI/ML-enabled manufacturing, and cloud-based automation platforms.
- Relevant process improvement certifications.
Travel
- Up to 40-50% travel for on-site/hybrid roles (higher if remote).
